Have you ever wanted to participate in shaping your neighbourhood and developing our urban landscape? You shop here, live here, walk here or work here. Contribute to a discussion on where ‘here’ is about.
We want your inputs if you are
- a community member
- shop in the area
- are a local business
- are a property owner
- passionate about creating and activating public urban spaces
Opportunities to participate
Identify our needs – what would make Eglinton Ave West form Marlee to Dufferin a better place to walk, hang out, shop and service your daily needs? what would make this area truly awesome? (If you spend time here you already know what a great strip it is, construction aside. but how do we make it better and prepare for the post-construction beautiful future?)
We will be at the Maria A. Shchuka Library 1745 Eglinton Ave West Saturday Feb 2nd 2pm – 4pm, gathering your inputs. Look for the mobile chalk board. We would love to chat!
Please complete the above survey.
About the Strategic Plan
The objective of the process is to set the direction for BIA actions and priorities over the next 4 years, based on member needs, consultation and stakeholder inputs.
The strategic plan is an opportunity to collectively identify our most crucial needs and set our priorities. It will be guiding document and decision making tool for all BIA streetscaping initiatives and neighborhood activation.
What do we want our mainstreet to look and feel like? What can the BIA do do to assist merchants and property owner in creating an environment that welcomes community and patrons and is supportive to business and economic development.Strat planning process and implementation
Gladki Planning Associates have been appointed to take us through the strategic planning process.
2018 Economic Scan- What is Eglinton Ave W worth?FINAL York-Eglinton BIA Infographic- Dec 2018
The City of Toronto commissioned an Economic Scan for the York Eglinton BIA area in 2017. The Economic Scan forms an important part of the environmental assessment for the Strategic Plan.
On Monday December 3, 2018 there was a presentation of the report at the BIA Office . A number of business and community representatives were in attendance and the presentation led to a very engaging session on the opportunities that we can take advantage of to improve the economic state of our business community.
The final report can be viewed here FINAL York-Eglinton BIA report- Dec 2018
The Economic Scan will be an important spring board as we move to craft a Strategic Plan for York Eglinton in 2019!
